MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects announce new Design Associates

Brian MacKay-Lyons and Talbot Sweetapple are pleased to announce the well-deserved promotion of Shane Andrews and Jennifer Esposito to the roles of Design Associate. We congratulate Shane and Jennifer on joining the leadership team of MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects.

Shane Andrews, M.Arch, BEDS

Shane comes to us from the Annapolis Valley where he was born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He graduated with a Masters in Architecture from Dalhousie University (2009) on the RAIC Honour Roll, where he also received the AIA Gold Medal. Shane’s education background also includes a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies from Dalhousie (2007) and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Victoria in British Columbia (2002).

Shane joined MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects in 2009 and has an innate sensitivity to the agricultural vernacular of the Annapolis Valley, Shane’s professional interests lie in architectural tectonics, building methods, and building response to site and place.

Jennifer Esposito, NSAA, M.Arch II, M.Arch, B.A.S.

Jennifer received her Master of Architecture II from Harvard University Graduate School of Design (2012). She had previously earned a Master of Architecture (2007) and Bachelor of Architectural Studies (2005) with Highest Distinction from Carleton University. Jennifer is the recipient of numerous academic awards including the Canada Council for the Arts JBC Watkins Award and the RAIC Honour Roll. She is currently a Sessional Instructor at Dalhousie University.

Since joining MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects in 2013, Jennifer has developed a niche interest in advancing the firms proto-urban projects, acting as Project Architect on the competition winning Bigwin Island Golf Cabins (Muskoka, ON) and Horizon Neighborhood at Summit Powder Mountain (Eden, UT).
