Brian MacKay-Lyons & Talbot Sweetapple are honored to be awarded the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture 2017.

For ten years, the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture annually rewards five architects whose thinking questions the Great Transitions of our time and which brings innovative approaches to architectural practice. The 2017 edition is dedicated to the relationship between the architect and resources. While including material resources, this edition is focused above all on intangible resources that are endlessly renewable such as time, processes or dialogue with other sciences and knowledge.
Previous laureates include, Wang Shu, Alejandro Aravena, Carin Smuts, Diébédo Francis Kéré, Studio Mumbaï, Anna Heringer, Anne Feenstra, Al Borde, Rotor, Talca School of Architecture, Kengo Kuma, Gion Caminada, amongst others…

The five laureates will give a series of lectures on Monday, May 15, 2017 starting at 2pm in the auditorium of the Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine.
